Orange Chocolate Chip Shortbread
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions:
Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up
Melt the butter and mix it with the powdered sugar in a bowl until the mixture is smooth and creamy
Mix the orange zest and vanilla extract into the butter mixture until everything is well mixed together
Add the all-purpose flour slowly while mixing the ingredients together until a dough forms
Add the mini chocolate chips and mix them in so that they are spread out evenly in the dough
Make a log out of the dough or press it into a square baking pan and smooth the top
For a baking pan, use a knife to cut the dough into shortbread-sized pieces
After the oven is hot, bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden
Just take it out of the oven and let it cool for a while
When you use a baking pan, cut the shortbread carefully along the lines that have been scored while it is still warm
On a wire rack, let the shortbread cool completely before you serve it or store it
