Classic American Cheeseburger
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup sliced pickles
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Ketchup and mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties
Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides
Place the patties on the hot grill or pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare burgers
Adjust the time for your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt the cheese
While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned
Assemble the burgers: Place lettuce leaves on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a tomato slice, a cheesy patty, diced onions, and pickles
Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the buns and place them on top of the assembled burgers
Serve hot and enjoy your Classic American Cheeseburger
