Classic American Cheeseburger

A mouthwatering classic American cheeseburger recipe thats perfect for a backyard barbecue or a quick weeknight dinner. Juicy beef patties, melty American cheese, and all the classic toppings come together in this timeless favorite.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced pickles
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Ketchup and mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties

Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides

Place the patties on the hot grill or pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare burgers

Adjust the time for your desired level of doneness

During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt the cheese

While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned

Assemble the burgers: Place lettuce leaves on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a tomato slice, a cheesy patty, diced onions, and pickles
