Brown Butter Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375F 190C
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma
Remove from heat and let cool slightly
In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and brown butter
Mix until well combined
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture
Mix until smooth
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined
Fold in the chopped hazelnuts and chocolate chips
Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
