Ombre Cake Pops
Ingredients:
- 1 box of white cake mix
- Ingredients required by cake mix eggs, oil, water
- Food coloring in 3 different shades
- 1 cup frosting vanilla or cream cheese
- 2 cups candy melts assorted colors
- Cake pop sticks
Instructions:
Follow the directions on the package to prepare the white cake mix
Split the batter into three parts that are equal
To create three different shades of batter, add a different amount of food coloring to each section
As instructed, bake the colored cake layers and then allow them to cool completely
Separately, crumble every colored cake into fine crumbs using three different bowls
Create three cake pop mixtures by combining 1/3 cup of frosting with each bowl of cake crumbs
To achieve an ombre effect, take a tiny portion of each mixture and roll it into tiny cake balls
Three distinct bowls, one for each color, are used to hold melted candy
Each cake pop stick tip should be dipped into the melted candy before being inserted into a cake ball
Each cake pop should be dipped into the matching melted candy, covering it entirely and letting any excess drip off
To set, place the cake pops on a tray lined with parchment paper
To achieve the stunning ombre effect, repeat the dipping procedure for every shade
Before serving, let the candy coating fully solidify
